Try to encourage kids to put down their indoor electronics and engage in outdoor game such as ride their motorcycle, hit the playground, engage in recreational sports, and embark on all types of regular activities – especially with additional friends. Kids tend to play more often and longer when they’re with other kids so this is a powerful way to get them moving.

  • Limit the eating of sugar and saturated fats.
  • Advocate drinking more water and less sugar-sweetened drinks.
  • Serve moderately-sized meal portions.
  • When possible, use low-fat or non-fat milk or dairy products.
  • Select lean meats, poultry, fish, and beans for protein.
  • Replace high-sugar high-fat foods with healthy alternatives.
  • Remove unhealthy temptations.
