Nominations for the 5th Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award

The Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award (NHEA) has announced call for nominations for the 5th edition of the Oscar of Nigeria healthcare award.

Speaking on this announcement, Dr. Wale Alabi, Project Director declares, “NHEA 2018 being  the 5th edition will be bigger and very exciting considering the increased activities in the Nigeria healthcare sector in the last one year as well as increased popularity and acceptance of the award by stakeholders within and outside Nigeria.”

The Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award (NHEA) is an annual event which celebrates distinguished personalities and organisations who have contributed immensely to the growth of the Nigerian health sector.

NHEA is an initiative of Global Health Project and Resources in Partnership with Anadach group. The award is designed to celebrate distinguished personalities and organizations who have contributed immensely to the growth of the Nigerian health sector.

NHEA started in 2014 and has since become a high profile event in the healthcare industry, gaining wide acceptance from stakeholders in the healthcare community, public and private sectors.

To nominate for corporate or individual categories, the public can visit to either nominate online or download the nomination form.

About 23 awards and recognition will be presented at the ceremony. It is made up of four main categories; Special Awards, Healthcare Delivery Services, Biomedical Technology, and Pharmaceuticals.

Some of the awards up for grabs include; The Lifetime Achievements Award, Outstanding State Government Healthcare Programme of the Year, Outstanding CSR Health Project of the Year, Healthcare Media Excellence (print & electronic), Private Healthcare Provider of the Year, Public Healthcare Provider of the Year, Laboratory service provider of the Year, and Radiology Service Provider of the Year. Others are; Biomedical Engineering Service Company of the Year, IVF Service Provider of the Year, Dialysis Service Provider of the Year, Eyecare Service Provider of the Year, Laboratory Equipment Marketing Company of the Year, Nursing & Midwifery Excellence Award of the Year, etc.

Moses Braimah, NHEA Director of Strategy, Marketing & Communication, says “NHEA will continue to provide a virile platform for proper recognition, reward and celebration of successes, innovations, growth and excellence in Nigeria’s Health Sector. Moreover, we have observed that the award has been able to stimulate quality improvement and innovation in the Nigerian health sector leading to improved service delivery & management of key health issues and the capacity of individuals to influence and set new performance standards in Nigeria & beyond.”

Winners of the various categories will be honored on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos. Nominations will close on May25, 2018 before the commencement of online voting to enable the award jury select winners in the various categories.

In 2017, the NHEA Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Professor (Mrs.) Ibironke Akinsete, Chairman of PathCare Laboratories and Mazi (Pharm) Sam Ohuabunwa, Chairman of Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc.

NHEA is organised by Global Health Project and Resources (GHPR) in collaboration with Anadach Group, USA. 


Aims & Objectives

  • Recognize excellence in healthcare delivery.
  • To promote a seamless and induce a positive experience with by embracing excellence and innovation.
  • Provide an opportunity for awardees achievements to be recognized.
  • Provide an opportunity for nominees and recipients to take a critical view of assessing their operative modalities a challenge and will to improve. Foster the will for continuous improvement in the operational process of nominees and recipients.
  • It will lead to increased sales and marketing opportunities for new customers, investors, and partners. Attract investors, build partnerships, and increase sales volumes with good client base.
  • Recipients will enjoy publicity that will establish their reputation as proven provider of exemplary levels of services. Implement publicity strategies to help build a recipient’s reputation as the proven provider of exemplary services.
  • Facilitate sharing of knowledge and best practices.
  • Suggest policy framework for achieving global standards of healthcare across the country.
  • Validate recipients’ efforts and give a vote of confidence that attracts and retains talent.
  • Provide a unique platform to for networking and collaboration network and collaborate.


There would be a screening committee, led by an expert panelist, that would go through all the nominations thoroughly and with the consent of major Stakeholders shortlist the best nominations across all award categories. An adhoc committee including experts does the shortlisting, and 2-3 candidates presented to the jury for selection.
